Listen to Daft Punk on iHeartRadio

With all the talk of Daft Punk showing up for the MTV Video Music Awards, the robots actually did appear at the awards on Sunday night.  And while the French duo didn't say a single word during their appearance at the event in Brooklyn's Barclays Center, they did preview their new "Lose Yourself to Dance" video.

Fans were treated to the sample clip just before the Robots walked out with Pharrell Williams and Nile Rodgers to present the award for Best Female Video.  Pharrell did most of the talking, but Daft Punk did hand over the Moonman trophy to the winner, Taylor Swift.

The duo's appearance was first made public when they canceled on Comedy Central's fake newsman, Stephen Colbert, earlier this month.  Colbert said Daft Punk pulled out of their scheduled appearance on "The Colbert Report" at the last minute because of their contractual obligation to MTV.

Meanwhile, Daft Punk wasn't so lucky, losing the only VMA they were up for this year, Best Song of the Summer.  Their hit "Get Lucky" was bested by One Direction's "Best Song Ever" in the fan-voted category.
