(Hamilton Co) Now that the weather has warmed up the annual ritual of Spring cleaning has begun. Michelle Balz from the Hamilton County Recycling and Solid Waste Department said even large items and appliances can be recycled.

"If you live within the City of Cincinnati, you are going to want to call 591-6000 their hotline. Many surrounding communities also have large item pickup. They will remove the Freon and safely recycle the appliance," said Balz.

Balz said there are also independent metal recyclers who will haul away big items. She also says aerosol cans and paper cartons can also now be put in the recycling bins. She said latex paint that is still usable can be donated to Mathew 25 Ministries in Blue Ash. Balz said anyone interested in learning how to compost can attend The Get the Dirt on Backyard Composting Seminars for free with locations listed on their website. The next one will be April 8th at the Livingston Lodge in Indian Hill at 7 p.m.  For other information on what and how to recycle go to hamiltoncountyrecycles.org
