(Cincinnati) District Fire Chief Gregory A. Potter with the Cincinnati Fire Department reports a One-Alarm structure fire that occurred in the Avondale neighborhood of Cincinnati. Firefighters got a 911 call Tuesday at 12:20 a.m. reporting a building on fire at 647 Greenwood Ave.

When crews arrived they saw smoke from the second floor of a 2 story frame stucco single family dwelling with an attic. An aggressive interior attack was initiated and confined the fire to the second floor. The fire was extinguished in less than 15 minutes. There was however heavy smoke damage to the second and third floors. The only occupant at home during the fire was alerted by a bystander and the 90 year old woman had exited the building prior to the Fire Department arrival.

Damage is estimated at $25000. There were 33 firefighters that responded to this incident. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries reported. Cause of the fire is in under investigation by the Cincinnati Fire Department Fire Investigations Unit
