(Over-the-Rhine) -- Liberty Street closed Thursday morning at Elm for streetcar construction, and Project Manager John Deatrick says it's moving along nicely, despite the snow.
Deatrick says they've ripped up the concrete today, and will start install track tonight.
The work will tie the rails together that have already been put down, north and south of Liberty. Deatrick calls it a "blitz". They're doing everything at once at the intersection, so they don't tie up traffic any longer than necessary.
Deatrick says they announced the closure last week, and people seem to have listened. He says traffic around Liberty and Elm has been relatively light.
They should have everything done by Monday, and Liberty should be reopened by Tuesday.
