(Cincinnati, Oh)--This year’s Paddlefest event has been expanded.

The free summer time event begins on Friday, June 20, with the kids' outdoor adventure expo, which includes science, fitness and other presentations geared toward children. There will be rafting, fishing and kayaking at Coney Island just east of Cincinnati.

On Saturday, June 21 from 10 am to midnight will be the brand new Paddlefest Outdoor Expo and “Roots on the River” Music Festival.

The daylong event features boat demos on Lake Como, classes & clinics, gear swap, Family Fishing Day on Lake Como, two fishing contests, raffles, and silent auction.

The Outdoor Expo is free and open to the public with a minimal parking charge of $5-$8.

On Sunday morning June 22, is the main event, the 13th annual Paddle the Ohio. Over 1,000 canoes and kayaks are expected to make an 8.2-mile trip from Coney Island to downtown Cincinnati.

Commercial and powerboat traffic, will have limited access to the river during the weekend event.
