(Hamilton) Since 1962, National Peace Officers Memorial Day is a day to remember the men and women that have not only helped our communities, but have also sacrificed their lives trying to help others.

"Paying this small tribute to them is the very least we can do to show our respect for all that they gave," Butler County's Sheriff Richard K. Jones said.

A wreath and flowers have been placed at the Sheriff's Office Police Officers Memorial at the Jail and Operational Headquarters building on Hanover Streetand flags have been lowered to half staff, in honor of the fallen officers.
